Sock Yarns

Our fingering weight sock yarns are all three ply and tightly spun to provide improved abrasion resistance and durability, The fibre used consists of blended medium and intermediate grades and while it is not ultrafine baby alpaca it is still soft with excellent thermal qualities. Each skein should have sufficient yardage to make an average sized pair of socks but please don’t hesitate to make something other than socks. Suggested uses include socks, lace shawls, fingerless gloves, and fine mittens.

Jessie’s Gigolos 108 – Jessie is one of our older girls but her fibre is still soft enough for sock yarn. We combined her clip with that of some of her “boyfriends”. This cream sock yarn is a little finer than our usual sock yarns but definitely in the range of “normal” for sock weight at 400yds and 100 grams.

Rebel Ricky Lopi 109 – this yarn is new and fast becoming a favourite with us. We asked the mill to combine some of our softest cria neck fibre with superfine merino and bamboo, 70% alpaca, 15% merino, 15% bamboo, and are thrilled with the lustre, handle and eye appeal of the resulting yarn. Skein sizes vary from 120-150 grams with yardage of 150-185 and are individually priced at 20cents/gram.

Alpaca Felt Sheets

Felt sheets shown here all measure 3' x 4' and are made with 100% Amazing Graze Alpaca Fibre unless otherwise stated. Prices vary according to sheet weight and fibre quality. Suggested uses include boot liners/insoles and saddle pads for heavier sheets and handcrafted stuffed animals, vests and hats for lighter/finer sheets. These sheets are also ideal for needle felting.

Very soft, smooth, and lustrous these sheets weight about 350grams each. The fibre in these sheets was provided by Monty and Galahad.

This felt sheet weighs 600 grams & is about 1/2 inch thick.

3. Fawn 50% Alpaca/50% Wool - 4 available @ $95.00 each.

Handknit Hats, Mittens and Scarves - I can’t knit fast enough to keep up with demand and Steven refuses to learn so we’ve retained the services of some talented local artisans to help out. We have some lovely lacey cowls and some beautiful bulky hats and scarves, mittens with thrums and some some with cables. All handknit items are made with Amazing Graze Alpaca yarns.

Made in Canada Alpaca Socks

In addition to our handcrafted articles we also carry commercially made Canadian alpaca socks. There is no wool in these socks just alpaca fibre and 15-20% nylon. Alpaca socks are a wonderful way to experience some of the unique joys of alpaca fibre – softness, moisture wicking, warmth retention.

Terry Alpaca Socks Casual Alpaca Socks

Terry $35.00 - these are my personal favourite - terry loops fill the entire sock, toe to cuff, for the warmest, most comfortable outdoors sock possible.

Casual $30.00 - a little lighter than the terry sock above, these have plainly knit leg with a terry insole for cushioning.
Cable Alpaca Socks Return Ankle Alpaca Socks

Cable SOLD OUT - no cushion soles in these but a lighter weight sock more suited to a dress shoe and having more visual interest with cable pattern on the foot and leg.

Slipper/Ankle $28.00 - these are new for us and have proven to be a big hit. They’re styled the same as the Terry socks but stop just above the ankle. Ideal bed socks for any one with perpetually cold feet.
